Milwaukee to Port Washington: Home Sweet Home

The day began with joyous news: our air conditioning was working and ready to go. A light shown down from heaven, angels sang, and there was a parade through town. Wait. The parade was the day before for the NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks. But the other stuff really happened. Not really.

We were eager to be on our way, so we packed up for the leisurely 2.5 hour cruise back to Port Washington. I sat at the helm while Owen got some work done. Owen took over when we pulled into Port for fuel and a pump out. We were content to top off with 100 gallons, almost on the dot, while the gentleman next to us filled his two massive fuel tanks. He was using two diesel hoses at the same time, and the meters kept spinning and spinning. His boat was much larger, much fancier, and much more expensive to run than ours. Good for him!

We made it back to our slip, settled in, and turned on the new air conditioner to bask in its freonic goodness…until an error message appeared on the display. The maintenance people will arrive Monday.

It was a hot and humid day in Port, and we walked to Dockside Deli for lunch. We enjoyed watching several Prestige yachts come in for a rendezvous weekend. Wow. Big, beautiful boats.

Owen gave the boat a nice washdown while I headed north to visit family. So glad to be back in Port Washington!
