The Loop

The Great Loop.
Map from captainjohn.org

The Great Loop is a 6,000ish mile trip through America’s waterways. We will be starting from our home port of Port Washington, Wisconsin. We’ll leave Lake Michigan in Chicago and head down the inland waterways to Mobile, hoping to make a side trip to Nashville. Then we’ll spend part of winter going around Florida and to the Bahamas. We’ll head north up the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to New York, where we will turn inland to the Erie Canal, up into Canada and through the Great Lakes back home.

With lots happening at home in Texas and in Wisconsin this year, we’ll be back and forth to both throughout. The trip will take a year or more.
