After helping daughter #2 move today, we got to work on our list of things to do before we start our Loop. Not all of the things are critical. Some of them are. Today we:
- Measure out our anchor rode and marked it every 25 feet with a different color tape so that we can keep track of how much we use. For the record, we have a little over 250 feet. The usual numbers we see are to let out 7 or 8 feet of rode for every foot of depth. That should be enough.
- Blew up two ball fenders and attached lines
- Put some ratchet straps on the dinghy to secure it better
- Tried to put a cover on the dinghy motor, but the one we got is too big (argh)
- Put teak oil on the flag pole (cleaned and conditioned yesterday)
- Put a new line on a sausage fender (I’m not sure what you call them, but the long ones)
After the work, Wendy cooked some delicious salmon and sweet Wisconsin corn on the grill and we spent some time relaxing on deck listening to a live band in the nearby band shell. It’s been a productive day!
