It really does feel like we’re going in circles. We decided to head back to Bimini Basin in Cape Coral again to anchor for the week. It saves a few bucks and it’s peaceful.
We set sail at about 11 am and stopped by the fuel dock at Diversified Yacht Services for a bit of fuel. It was kind of fun because we got to use the tide to our advantage. With the tide coming in, we just tied up the line on the aft port side and let the current push us into the dock.

After a bit of fuel, we set out. We wanted to kill a little time to let the tide rise a bit more before we got to Bimini Basin (and we just like to cruise around), so we went out into the gulf and south for a ways. The water was a little bumpy, but not bad. As we were sailing, we saw a group of cigar boats racing out of the bay with a helicopter flying low following the lead boats.
Eventually, we turned around and headed back into the bay and up the Caloosahatchee River to Cape Coral. It was uneventful getting through the canals.
When we came into Bimini Basin, there were nine other boats already there, but plenty of room for us. We put down the anchor and settled in. We did notice the one of the old dilapidated sail boats was missing.
I put down the dinghy and went to shore. We needed a few groceries. With Wendy’s broken wing, I went to the store with our wagon to get provisions. On the way, I found the old sailboat. It must have broken loose in the last storm and someone towed it to the little city dock.

After getting all of the groceries back aboard, we settled in for a comfortable week at anchor.
