Whale Key, FL, to Sarasota, FL

Whale Key was a blissfully quiet anchorage, and we didn’t want to leave. So we didn’t. We stayed until early afternoon, knowing our next leg was a measly seven miles.

We sat on the back of the boat reading, talking, and listening to the waves gently lap the boat. The weather was just perfect, and whatever edge there was on the heat was whisked away by the gentle breeze.

Just thinking about it just now lowers my heart rate.

Eventually, we pulled up our anchor, followed our path back to the ICW, and were on our way.

After just a short time, we pulled into the fuel dock Marina Jack. Such friendly service at this top notch marina! Once our fuel tank was full and our holding tank was empty, we were directed to our slip. We were parked next to a boat just like ours: a 125 foot yacht (which was not very much like ours at ALL!).

We spent Sunday through Friday at Marina Jack, and we’ll write more about Sarasota in a different post.
